Olinda is known for its colorful and rich culture. However, it does not share the same fame when it comes to its nightlife.
Compared to some of Brazil’s bigger cities, Olinda nightlife is not as vigorous, thus, it is not famous to many party-goers. Although there are still a number of lively places that offer tourists with interesting and fun activities at night, the city, also referred to as Boa Viagem zone, is often preferred by those who are looking for a tranquil and more conventional night setting.
Do not seek for nightclubs and pubs in the city, as it does not have. Instead, Olinda has several cafes and bars that are mostly the focus of the city nightlife. Some of these bars offer guests with live music – that is most of the times improvised and impromptu; some serve good drinks that customers can enjoy along with a good chat or conversation. There are restaurants too that serve sumptuous and delicious international and local cuisines. If you are a food lover, this is something that you would really appreciate.
If you are really looking for a place to party, then you can head to Recife which is just 6 kilometers from Olinda. There you can find a few nightclubs and pubs that are usually frequented by yuppies and younger people.
