Anybody who has been to Maceió can easily say that the best way to get to the city is by bus. Although Maceió has its own airport (Zumbi dos Palmares International), flights going to the city are few.

If you are from another country, it would be wise to get a flight going to the bigger cities, such as Rio de Janeiro, Brasilia, and Sao Paolo. From there, go take a bus to get to Maceió.

Wherever you are in Brazil, there are a number of buses that’s ready to take you to Maceió on daytime or overnight. If you prefer to travel on daytime, be ready for a longer ride since buses usually take a stop at every little town along the way. If you are not in a hurry, this will be a great opportunity for you to see some local culture and enjoy great sights.

Overnight trips are faster. However, because of the darkness, your view of the various landscapes is limited or none at all.
