Compared to the bigger cities of Brazil, getting to Fernando de Noronha may not be that easy, especially to tourists who are coming from outside the country. Since the Fernando de Noronha Airport, the only airport in the island does not cater to international flights, people who wish to get to the island would have to take an airplane from cities close to Fernando de Noronha.
Located 338 miles or 545 kilometers and 223 miles or 360 kilometers away from Fernando de Noronha, Recife and Natal, respectively are two departure cities for those who want to be on the island.
From Recife, two airlines offer daily flight services. These are VARIG (Viação Aérea Rio Grandense)/Gol and TRIP (Transporte Aéreo Regional do Interior Paulista) Linhas Aéreas. The first is every 2:00 PM, the second every 11:40 AM and 5:30 PM. From Natal, TRIP provides flights every 11:10 AM. Note though that these scheduled times are based on the timezone of the departure cities.
Getting to the island may be a bit inconvenient, but when you’re already there, you’ll know it’s all worth it.
