Getting around Manaus is easy. If you want to go to neighboring Brazilian cities, you also wouldn’t have a hard time. There are a number of transportation options that you can choose from.

By plane

Manaus has two airports for your travel needs, the Aeroporto Internacional Eduardo Gomes and Eduardinho. While the Gomes airport caters to international flights, Eduardinho, on the other hand, takes care of regional flights to and from Manaus. The Gomes airport is only 13km away from Manaus’s center district and Eduardinho is found 600m to the east of Gomes. Even as the ticket fare regularly fluctuates, expect departure tax added on to your fare. Gomes airport charges R$20 and Eduardinho charges R$16 for departure tax.

By boat

There are also two ports in Manaus if you want to take the option to travel by sea. The Estação Hidroviária de Manaus in Porto Flutuante caters to passenger boats while the Porto Manaus caters to speedboats. Trips from Porto Flutuante includes Belém with stops in Parintins, Itacoatiara, Monte Alegre and Santarém; Tefé; Tabatinga; and Porto Velho, with stops at Humaitá and Manicoré. Trips from Porto Manaus include Tefé, Tabatinga, and Parantins.

By car

Though this is not a popular choice of transport in Manaus, if you want to travel at your own pace you may still do so. There are several car rentals available including Hertz, Unidas, Avis, and Localiza.
